This past week we were getting ready to leave for our family reunion. We made Angry Goldfish for snacking around the pool.

And since we needed to use up some rhubarb, we made two pans of rhubarb bars and a batch of oatmeal-rhubarb-white chocolate-walnut cookies. I forgot to take pictures.
We did make some pizza…
Wednesday (Friday) Pieday: Pizza Napoletana (Neapolitan pizza) a style of pizza that originated in Naples, Italy. Neapolitan dough (with basil salt) then topped with San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh basil from the garden and garnished with a drizzle of olive oil.

On Thursday we traveled to Paris, Illinois. Friday was our day to cook for 20+ people. So, Matthew made two crockpots full of his award winning chili. And I made cornbread panzanella salad. We were too busy to remember to take pictures.
The highlight of the weekend was being able to celebrate Matthew’s 40th Birthday on Saturday with family. Usually, the reunion is the end of July.

On Sunday, Day 2 of the 40th Birthday celebration…He had to stop at the I-80 Truckstop…225 acres with 100,000 square feet of retail space, serving 5,000 customers per day!

We had a wonderful long weekend with family and we are already looking forward to next year.
Till next week!
