I like a movie that is funny and touching. Add in some super powers, and that's my favorite genre! Sadly, there are no super heroes in this movie, but it's still pretty charming. Bell and Grammer are as wonderful as ever, even though the topic might be a bit overdone.

Like Father tells the story of a woman that has problems disconnecting from her job. She loses her future husband so decides to go on her honeymoon cruise with her estranged father in a drunken moment of craziness. From here, you can guess pretty much the entire rest of the movie, although the romantic entanglements on the cruise still were pretty well done. This was written and directed by Lauren Miller Rogen, who is married to Seth Rogen, so Seth does have a part in the movie, which was pretty well done, I thought. He's a pretty notorious pothead, so the mandatory pot scene was in there, but it was actually really witty. I really enjoyed the meta humor of it all (something to watch for).

All in all, no risks were taken with this movie, but the formula is still enjoyable. It's touching; It's got humor; It's gonna please the exact audience that would want to see a movie like this. Bell was great and Grammer might have been even better. And, of course, they sing! Not long enough for me, but still, that's always a treat! If you think you'll like this movie, you will. So check it out!
