I love movies like this. There are sad times, there are happy times, but it's all good times. I don't know that I've ever seen a movie about a record store that I didn't like! If you dig the vibe of indie flicks, you'll like this movie. It's not a quirky indie... more of the realistic indie style.

Hearts Beat Loud tells the story of a father and daughter trying to make it in this crazy world. The mom was killed in an accident, so they just have each other. He owns a record story in New York and she's going to UCLA to study pre-Med. Money is tight and times are tough. The store might have to close. So they decide to record a song together just to have some quality time. They do a few more and consider having a band, but will life let them follow their dreams?

I love the acting. I love the story. I love the characters. Plus the music is amazing. The only thing that stops this from getting higher scores is that it's not very daring. It's good, but a little formulaic. They didn't really take any risks. It's just a nice, simple movie with a few societal messages that aren't too shocking for a 2018 audience. It's got good laughs and a few tears. All in all, it's a good movie about life. If you like movies like that, then this is for you!
